Yuval Medina is a composer and pianist working at the intersection of music with dance, film, and the concert stage. His music is defined by narrative, emotional honesty, and a belief in the power of art to connect us to one another across divides. He is the co-founder of Ex Corde, a composer-led nonprofit presenting original interdisciplinary concerts in New York City.
His orchestral rescore of BBC's Frozen Planet II has been viewed over 2.8 million times on YouTube. His music was recently featured by Vanity Fair during the 2025 Oscars ceremony. He won first prize in the American Pops Orchestra's 2026 Ruth Wales du Pont Collegiate Composition Competition and has been selected as a Composition Fellow for the 2026 Intimacy of Creativity festival in Hong Kong, led by Bright Sheng. Yuval holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Duke University and is completing his M.M. in Composition at the Manhattan School of Music.
